Polarizing (Darkening) the Sky

The following is a simple way to darken a blue sky (similar to the effect of using a polarizing filter).

Using an Adjustment Layer to Darken (Polarize) the Sky

You can darken the blue of the sky (or any other color for that matter), using an adjustment layer.

1) Select New Adjustment Layer - Selective Color

2) Select the blue color and then move the Black slider to increase the black in the blue color. You may also need to repeat this on the cyan color.

This can be applied to various colors to see the impact.
