I recently spent some time in
the eastern Sierra Nevada area of California. We started in Mono
Lake, and then made our way down to Death Valley. You can spend
a lifetime photographing in these areas. Here are a few samples.
Mono Lake at Sunrise
The photo above was taken just
as the sun was breaking through. This provided a little pink alpenglow
to the peaks.
Mono Lake and the Sierra Nevada Mountains
The two photos above were taken about five
minutes apart. You can see how you can get a completely different
mood if you wait just a few minutes.
Mono Lake Tufa
Mono Lake Tufa Reflection
The tufa formations at Mono Lake make fantastic photgraphic subjects.
Death Valley Sand Dunes
Our trip into Death Valley hit a little hiccup when our car broke down.
However, we did manage to get a few decent shots of the dunes.
